Mrs. Dorothy Bennett Parris, age 75, of Plainville, GA., departed this life, Thursday April 28, 2016 at her home. Dorothy was born May 2, 1940 in Summerville, GA, a daughter of the late Theodore and Janie Bohannon Lemming. She was also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, D.A. Bennett, sister, Margaret Utzler. She was a member of the Resaca Church of Christ.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Earl Parris of the residence; her children, Danny "Buck" and Vickie Ann Bennett of Plainville, GA, Deborah and Stephen Floyd of Eufaula, AL, Danita and Eddy Dukes of Plainville, GA; stepchildren, Earl Harrison and Chris Parris of Summerville, GA, Katherine Romstad of Atlanta, GA; brother, Ray Lemming of Summerville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Thomas Luttrell of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Michelle Scott, Joseph Roach, Deanna Edwards, Nicole Black, Aaron Floyd, Misty Miller, Tonya Podbielski, Niki Cochran; great grandchildren, Logan Jeffords, Montana Thomas, Newt Pass, Ellie Ingram, Taylon Ingram, Alexus Payne, Bailey Podbielski, Abel Cochran, Slade Cochran, Jacey Johnson, Ethan Edwards; great great grandchild, Brendon Wesson; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy Bennett Parris will be held Saturday April 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Ponders Calhoun Chapel with the Pastor Jewell Meadors officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery with Joseph Roach, Aaron Floyd, Logan Jeffords, Newt Pass, Ethan Edwards and Roger Scott serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday April 29, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
