Mrs. Dorothy Norrell, age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday February 4, 2022 at her residence. She was born July 20, 1935 in Cherokee County a daughter of the late HL and Ruby Roper Turner. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Mack Turner and Emory Turner. She was a substitute teacher for many years at Valley Point and Southeast High School. She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gerald Norrell of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Andy Whitener; granddaughter, Adrea Norrell of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Brenda Turner of Jasper, GA; sister, Jan Holt of Jasper, GA; sister-in-law, Doris Turner of Jasper, GA; special friend, Sue Allred of Tate, GA; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy Norrell will be held Monday February 7, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend George Ross and Reverend Matt Futch officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
