Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Mae Leonard, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Quinton Memorial. Dorothy was born July 8, 1935, in Fannin County, Ga. to the late parents George Verlin Brown and Radie Lou Emma Cole Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband William Steed Leonard on January 24, 2008, and her granddaughter Tiffany Michelle Henry. She was a member of EleventhAve. Baptist Church for over 30 years. She met her husband William Steed Leonard at Glory Baptist Church and did not kiss him until their wedding day.

She is survived by her son Matt Leonard; daughter Debbie Leonard; daughter-in-law Martha Leonard all of Dalton, grandchildren Hannah Henry, Micheal Burns, Katlyn Leonard, and Meghan Leonard; sisters, Leona Brown, Geneva Brown, Delona Dunn, Helen Kizer all of Dalton.

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Mae Leonard will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the EleventhAve. Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 5:00 p.m. until 9:00p.m. on Saturday.
