Mrs. Dorothy Frances Beard (Frances) passed away peacefully at her home on October 14th. Frances was born in Dalton on June 16, 1931 and was the loving mother of six children and dozens of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren to whom her life was devoted. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Howard Williams and Ola Mae Collins-Williams, her husband Harold John Beard, her daughter Clarice Loraine Boyd-Baker, and her siblings; Arthel Williams, Edison Williams, Willie Williams, Felcie Putnam-Erhart, Clarence Williams, Joyce Mosley and Teresa Borgen.

She is survived by her sons Randall Beard, Douglas Beard (Shirley), Carlton Beard (Dawn), Darryl Beard (Susan) and Robert Beard (Kathy); grandchildren Andrea Rudd of Knoxville, TN, Curtis Boyd, Trista Morrison (Richard), Kira Lightning, Scott Beard (Nicole), Stephanie Waldrop (Darin), Ellison Beard, Connor Beard (Rachel), Kimber Wofford (Alex), Erica Beard, Kayci Steadman (Leighton), Klayton Beard (Emily), and Kevin Beard (Alondra); and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy Frances Beard will be held Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Tim McIntosh officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the United Memorial Gardens with Klayton Beard, Kevin Beard, Ellison Beard, Connor Beard, Kimber Wofford, and Erica Beard serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
