Mrs. Dorothy Lucille Barton, age 88, of Dalton, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday morning, August 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving daughter's. Dorothy was born March 4, 1925 in Ellijay, Georgia, a daughter of the late Solomon Pink and Martha Rebecca Smith Sumner. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-three years, James Doyle Barton, August 24, 2005. She was retired from World Carpet.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Jan Hodnett, Wanda and James Ledford; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her loving companion's and body guards, Lil Bit and Pearlene; special friends, Leslie and Judy Bates, Jo Cox; special thanks to the family of Jeremy Bates; several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services were held Friday, August 2, 2013 at United Memorial Gardens.
