Mrs. Dorothy Lee "Dot" Wheeler, age 82 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday August 26, 2015 her residence. Dot was born May 4, 1933 in Copperhill, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Frank and Emma Lee Wilson Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Edward Wheeler, a sister, Nancy Hindman and daughter-in-law, Vickie Wheeler.
She is survived by her sons, Donnie Wheeler of Dalton, GA, and Roy Wheeler of Cohutta, GA; daughters, Nadie Mae and Phillip Kilgore of Sequatchie, TN, Kathy and James Massey of Dalton, GA, Rebecca Wheeler of Flintstone, GA, and Sharlene Wheeler of Rocky Face, GA; brothers, Charles Rogers of Umatilla, FL, and James Rogers of Chatsworth, GA; sister, Linda and David Brown of Cleveland, TN; a special caregiver, her granddaughter, Heahter Wheeler; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy Lee Wheeler will be held Saturday morning, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Brother George Cross officiating. She will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with Chris West, Larry Brewer, Roy Wheeler, Donnie Wheeler, Jr., Brandon Abbo, Glen Stevens and Michael Wheeler serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
