Mrs. Doris Marie Smith, age 74, of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life, Wednesday January 17, 2018 at the Murray Medical Center. Doris was born April 22, 1943, in Dalton, GA, the daughter of the late Max Burns and Ruby Mae Higgins White. She was also preceded in death by her brother Cecil White, Jerry White, Richard White and James Burns.

She is survived by her son, Bo Stamey of Florida; daughters, Charlotte Marie and Brian McGirt of Silvester, GA, Cosetta Stamey of Florida; sisters, Tommie Wright, Clara Welch; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

At Doris's request she will be cremated and the family will have a memorial service at a later date at the White Cemetery.
