Mrs. Doris Jean Coffer Richardson, age 83, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, August 29, 2013 at her residence. Doris was born April 7, 1930 in Charleston, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Isaac "Ike" Coffer and Bessie Jenkins Callaway. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years and eight months, Bobby Richardson, grandson, Jerome Keith, son-in-law, Don Guthrie and a brother, Robert Callaway. Doris was a hard worker and loved her family very much.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Nancy Richardson of Rocky Face, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Thad Cunningham, Karen Guthrie all of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jason Richardson, Jeremy and Kristine Richardson, Kelly and Farkle Bearden, Ryan Keith, Dustin and Amanda Edwards, Joshua and Amber Edwards; great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Devin and Delana Edwards, Matthew Keith, Natalie, Maranda, and Breann Edwards; brother, Jearld Callaway of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Shirley Callaway and Mary Ruth Davis both of Dalton, GA; former sons-in-law, Bobby Keith and Allen Edwards; caregivers and special extended family, Sue and Robin Bunch; nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Doris Jean Coffer Richardson will be held Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Michael Douglas officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Casey Springs Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia, with Jason Richardson, Jeremy Richardson, Ryan Keith, Dustin Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Michael Richardson, Matthew Keith and Devin Edwards serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
