Doris Louise Barrett, age 73, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Doris was born October 15, 1939 in Calhoun, Georgia, a daughter of the late William and Mildred Bryant Barrett. She was also preceded in death by her brother David Barrett and sister Carol Barrett.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Susan Barrett of Snellville, GA; grandchildren: Callie Barrett, Savannah Barrett, Lily Barrett and Hope Barrett. Doris is also survived by a brother, Harry Barrett of Calhoun, GA, as well as a sister and brother-in-law Helen and James Paul of Gray, GA.

Services to celebrate the life of Doris Louise Barrett will be held 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Conner officiating. She will be laid to rest at Blackwood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pall bearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel, Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm and she will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

The family has requested that donation be made to the family for the grandchildren college fund or flowers may be sent as well.
