Mrs. Dora Bell Morrison Patton, age 87, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday September 23, 2015 at the Quinton Memorial Health Care. Dora was born July 30, 1928 in Ringgold, Georgia, a daughter of the late William and Callie Elizabeth Plott Morrison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl James Patton, a brother, Eugene Morrison and a sister, Sarah Thomason.
Dora liked flowers, loved to dance and her favorite songs were "Momma He's Crazy and "On The Road Again". She loved her family and especially telling her grandchildren old childhood stories.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Jenny Patton of Portland, OR, Dale Patton of Rocky Face, GA, Steve "Packer" Patton of Chatsworth, GA, Charles "Chuck" Patton of Varnell, GA, Ricky and Tammy Patton of Cohutta, GA, David Patton of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma Higgins of Ringgold, GA, Marie and Horace Dailey of Dalton, GA, Gail and Bobby Wells of Cohutta, GA, Caroline and Terry Chastain of Cohutta, GA; brother, Alvin Morrison of Leesburg, GA; special niece and best friend, Emily Brewer of Rocky Face, GA; twenty seven grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dora Bell Patton will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bill Cantrell officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Dogwood Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, with her grandsons, Gary Cornette, Jason Chastain, Kevin Cornette, Greg Patton, Casey Patton and Brett Daily serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
