Mrs. Donna Jean (Payne) Hightower, age 80, of Cartersville, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the home of Margie Wilson surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 19. 1933 in Bartow County, a daughter to the late Jesse and Idell Duncan Payne. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life for fifty-seven years, Doyle Hightower, her youngest son, Daron Hightower, as well as sisters; Dossie Payne, Flossie Bolt, Gemmae Smith and brothers Harold and Clarence Payne. She was a member of the Fairmount First Baptist Church.

Donna is survived by her son Derek Hightower, grandsons; Deke, Heath and Grant Hightower, special daughter Margie Wilson, nieces and nephews and adopted daughters.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Donna Jean Hightower will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday February 9, 2014 at the Pleasant Grove (RYO) Baptist Church with Reverend Robby Chastain officiating. Music will be by Alan Price. She will be laid to rest next to Doyle at the church cemetery with Collin Barber, Stiles Sanford, Alan Price, Bill White, Brian White and Ron Holcombe serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
