Mr. Donald Thorne age 71 of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Saturday September 26, 2020 at the Ridgewood Manor. He was born December 2, 1948 in Gatewood, WV a son of the late Luther J.R. and Pauline Arbutis Nelson Thorne. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Nelson. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine.

He is survived by his children, Donald Thorne of Bourbonaid, IL, Darrell Thorne of Lancaster, CA, Holly Thorne of Indiana; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Thorne of Dalton, GA, Pete and Sharon Thorne of North Carolina, Randy Thorne of West Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Joe Brubaker, Susie and Howie Wood of West Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

At his request he will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
