Mr. Donald "Don" Bearley Gibson age 80 of Rocky Face, GA, departed this life Thursday April 28, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 1, 1941 in Towns County, GA a son of the late U.L. and Oda Lee Hooper Gibson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Trenice Leon Gibson, daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Joseph Barr III, son, Donald Stuart Gibson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Mark Carnes of Rocky Face, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Lauren Gordon of Dalton, GA; brother and sisters-in-law, Mike and Gwen Gibson of Dalton, GA, Vonda Gibson of Bradenton, FL; sister, Shirley O'Bryant of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Haley and Kyle Webb, Ashley Barr, Hunter Carnes, Kayden Carnes, Cali Carnes, Eva Carnes, Lyla Gordon, Jackson Gordon; great grandson, Jacob Patterson; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Donald Bearley Gibson will be held Monday May 2, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Marvin Sowder and Reverend Mike Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will follow in the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with his nephews serving as pallbearers. American Legion Post 112 will provide Military Honors.
