Mr. Donald Eugene Burchfield, age 49, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life on Saturday December 14, 2013 at the local hospital after a long illness. Donald was born March 20, 1964 in Cherokee, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Ann Parker Burchfield, his parents, Larry and Lois Mathis.

He is survived by his step daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Keith Mitchell; grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaitlyn and Kayla Vayens; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dallas and Joy Parker; son-in-law, Dallas Vayens all of Dalton, GA; aunt, Virginia Zakroski of Robinsville, NC; brothers, Scott and Christopher Burchfield; sister, Rihanna Ornelas; several other family.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Donald Eugene Burchfield will be held Tuesday December 17, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. from the Varnell Church of God with Reverend Robert Duke officiating. He will be entombed beside his loving wife at the Resurrection Mausoleum at the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Matt Parker, Josh Parker, David Parker, Jeremy Ridley, Dallas Vayens and Cody Christianson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Monday.
