Mr. Don Edwin Stephens, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Quinton Memorial Health Care.

Don was born June 1, 1935 in Calhoun, Georgia, a son of the late Claude and Delma Dooley Stephens. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Murel, Clyde, Lamar and Jimmy Stephens. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Vickie Stephens of Crandall, GA, Ron and Brenda Stephens of Spring Place, GA, and Terry Stephens of Marietta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Kelly Pittman of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Brett Stephens, Erin Stephens, McKenny Pittman, Caroline Pittman and Iris Pittman; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Stephens, Chloe Stephens and Braxton Jackson; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Spratling of Buford, GA, and Ann and Fred Hall of Resaca, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Don Edwin Stephens will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend A. J. Walker officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Don Spratling, Hank Stephens, Brett Stephens, Jeff Stephens, Ray Stanford, McKenny Pittman and Marty Hutcherson will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
