Obituary

Mrs. Dollie Mae Bishop, age 78, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, August 30, 2013 at her home. Dollie was born July 19, 1935 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Elbert and Mellie Wilson Satterfield. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Cicero and Junior Satterfield and a sister, Verdie Douthitt. Dollie was a devoted housewife and caregiver. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Quinton Bishop of the residence; niece who was much like a daughter, Rose Ann Cox and her husband, Eddie Cox; great-niece, Amy McKnight; nephews, Eddie Douthitt and Tony Satterfield; niece, Angie Satterfield; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ruth and Ted Sane, Wilma Jean and Junior Sanford, Annette and Clyde Bullard, Ruby and Kenneth Slack, Faye and Wayne Williams, Carolyn and Jerry Wheat, Amos and Cindy Bishop; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; lifelong special friend, Diane Robinson.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dollie Mae Bishop will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Eddie Douthitt, Tony Satterfield, Steve McKnight and Kevin Coleman serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friend at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 12:00 p.m. Noon Saturday until the service hour.
