Mrs. Diane Renee Poteet, age 54, of Varnell, Georgia, departed this life Friday evening, December 16, 2022, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia.

Diane was born July 1, 1968, in Dalton, Georgia. She was employed at Techniplas in Quality Control.   Diane was an animal lover, and her dogs were very special to her. Her little schnoodle poodle, Jazz Ray, her little mutt, Jake and her black lab, the destroyer, Orpheus.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Ann Ledford and her mother-in-law, Arleen King Poteet.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Poteet of the residence; sisters and brother-in-law, Rachel and Victor Avila of Rocky Face, GA, and Rebecca Ledford of Dalton, GA; father-in-law, Ray Poteet; sister-in-law, Rita Poteet both of Ranger, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Sandy Poteet of Dalton, GA;  nieces and nephews, Nichole Ledford, Justin Luna, Victor Avila, Amber Avila, Griffin Avilla, Dakota Martin, and Kasey Poteet; great-nieces and great-nephews, Bentley Phillips, Samuel Avila, Matthew Avila. Milo Avila, Paisley Wenner and Willow Wenner; several other nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Diane Renee Poteet will be held Wednesday morning, December 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Denny Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum with Ray Poteet, Tony Poteet, Justin Luna, Griffin Avila, Josh Phillips, and Victor Avila honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning until the service hour.
