Mr. Dennis Michael Elder, age 70, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday evening, March 29, 2023, at the local hospital surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born April 24, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Thomas and Marie Minore Elder.  He was also preceded in death by brothers, David Elder and Mark Elder nephew Christopher Elder.

Dennis worked many years at Lyle Industries.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Jason Mackler of Rossville, GA, Jennifer Elder of Chatsworth, GA, and Samantha and Billy Harkins of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Carolyn Elder, and Thomas and Joann Elder all of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Sabrina Pierce, Destiny Asher, Dakota Asher, Kandace Burk, Charlie Bolton and Tyler Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Ronin Cantrell, Carine Cantrell, Maple Medlin, Myles Davis, and Jonah Pierce; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Dennis Michael Elder will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Dennis Ray officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
