Obituary

Mrs. Deborah Ann Caldwell, age 62 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, March 5, 2026, at her home.

Deborah was born April 5, 1963, a daughter of the late Charlie and Shirley McClure Sneed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dewayne Caldwell; and her grandparents, Henry and Ethel Womach Sneed, and Charlie and Dorothy Lois Dean McClure.

Deborah was a member of The Church of God of The Union Assembly. She loved her children, grandchildren, and family with her whole heart. Though she faced physical disabilities throughout her life, she remained strong and devoted, always caring for her children and doing everything she could to provide them with love, support, and guidance. Her family meant everything to her, and the love she gave was returned to her many times over. She will be remembered for her strength, her devotion, and the deep love she had for those closest to her.

She is survived by her children, Dewayne Caldwell of Dalton, GA, Timmy Caldwell of Benton, TN; daughters, Tammy and Dustin McElwaney of Blue Ridge, GA, and Tosha Capehart of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, A.J. Capehart, Devon Capehart, Logan Capehart, Aisha Caldwell, Brooklyn Caldwell, Brandon Ballance, Connor McElwaney, and Alex Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Dom Ballance, Tyson Ballance, and Ember Ballance; sister, Roxie and Eugene Rogers of Dalton, GA; brothers, Jerry and Tammy Sneed of Chatsworth, GA, and Ricky and Tracey Sneed of Rocky Face, GA; special friends, Martha Callahan and Sharon Taylor Newton, both of Dalton, GA; along with several uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Deborah Ann Caldwell will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charlon Brafford officiating. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband and family at Little Prospect Memorial Burial Grounds with A.J. Capehart, Logan Capehart, Devon Capehart, Dewayne Caldwell, Dustin McElwaney, Reed Hix, and Cory Rogers honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Deborah will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
