Mr. David J. Wimpey, age 54, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, February 26, 2014 the local hospital. David was born January 12, 1960 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Howard and Pauline Shoemaker Wimpey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Oscar "Budgie" Wimpey, sister, Paulette Wimpey.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Cindy Wimpey of Tunnel Hill, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte and David Hedden of Ellijay, GA, Phyllis and Sam Palmer of Chatsworth, GA; special friend, Debbie Johns of Calhoun, GA; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Dr. Sam Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
