Mr. David Henry Owen, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Sunday April 30, 2017 at his residence. David was born July 7, 1932 in Chattanooga, TN, a son of the late Henry Franklyn and Edith Coker Owen. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Frank Owen, Roy Owen, Fred Owen, sisters, Mable Owen Duckett, Linda Owen Segura. David proudly served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Holcomb Owen of the residence; daughters, Kay Owen and Leonard Dlugonski of Dalton, GA, Donna Owen Holsomback of Suggar Valley, GA; grandchildren, Justin Smithey, Jeremy Smithey, Jessica Dlugonski

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. David Henry Owen will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Darl Arbogast officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Jesus Contreras, Scott Holcomb, Shawn Smithey, Justin Smithey, Jeremy Smithey and Shane Owen serving as pallbearers. J.B Cochran, Russ Camp, and Jason Swilling will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday.
