Mr. David Lee Montgomery, age 47, of Pack Road in the Ranger community departed this life suddenly Saturday evening, May 30, 2020 at Gordon Hospital.

David was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 4, 1972.  He was a son of Dessie Ruth Ridley Montgomery of Ranger, and the late Jessie Lee Montgomery.  Along with his father he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Jessie Ridley.

David had attended Fairmount High School.  In the past he had been employed by the City of Calhoun as an equipment operator and most recently at Zippy Lube in Calhoun as a mechanic.

He is survived by his mother, Dessie Ruth Montgomery of Ranger; sons, Jarrett Montgomery of Calhoun, Mason Lee Montgomery of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters and brother-in-law, Donna and Michael Blalock of Ranger, Judy Darlene Chartrand of South Port, North Carolina; brothers, Carl "Buck" Peek of Ranger, Danny Lee Montgomery of Nashville, Georgia, Jerry Lee Montgomery of Georgia; many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of David Montgomery will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the graveside at Sugar Valley Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the graveside from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM.
