David Andrew James, age 59, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Born on November 23, 1966, in Hamilton County, Tennessee, David was known for his generous heart and kind spirit. He may not have had much, but he was always willing to give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. A loving brother and friend, David, had a way of making everyone feel welcome, often greeting others with his favorite word, "buddy."

David enjoyed cooking and took great pride in his work at the Big V Restaurant, where he formed many lasting friendships and was considered part of a close-knit family. His warm personality, sense of humor, and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward James and Mary Sue "Haygood" Stokes; and by his sisters, Nina Gonzales and Paula Torres.

David is survived by his son, Jessey James; his brothers, John Dickson of Dalton, Georgia, James Dickson of Florida, and Charles James of Texas; aunt Vera Chambers (Leslie) of Cohutta as well as several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. He also leaves behind his best friend Jennifer Stevison and many friends at the Big V Restaurant, who will cherish his memory for years to come.

David's kindness, generosity, and caring nature touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

At the request of the family, there will be no services held at this time.
