Obituary

Mr. David Holshouser, 68 of Dalton, Georgia, his spirit was set free from his earthly body on Saturday August 1, 2020 at the local hospital. He was born November 25, 1951 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a son of the late John and Alma Myrtle Holt Holshouser.

David proudly served his country in the United States Marines stationed in Okinawa by way of Camp Lejune. David was employed many years in the carpet industry and worked for Carpets of Dalton for 20 years and was semi-retired. He had an adventurous free spirit.  He enjoyed hobbies such as hiking, rock climbing, caving, and hang-gliding.  David had a fond appreciation for anything and everything to do with nature and loved being an outdoorsman.  He and his wife were always both passionate about rescuing and loving their fur-babies.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Holshouser of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Brad Hancock of Calhoun, GA, Kim and Jimmy Wheeler of Winston-Salem, NC; stepchildren, Humberto Perez of San Antonio, TX, Fernando Perez of Dalton, GA; Erica and Steve Sinnott of Blue Springs, MO; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Jorge Quintal of Winston- Salem, NC; special aunt, Shirley Saunders; special cousin, Nancy Milholand of Winston- Salem, NC; grandchildren, Thaxton Hancock, River Hancock, Jessica Brook Maner, Taylor Dupaquier; four great grandchildren, and many local and North Carolina family and close friends.

At his request he will be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
