Mr. Darrell L. Shoemaker, age 73 of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday September 2, 2015 at his home. Darrell was born March 4, 1942 in Coleman, Alabama, a son of the late Newton John and Jewell "Judy" Shoemaker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Olia Ruth Hester Shoemaker.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Rena Plumly of North Carolina, Darrell Anthony Shoemaker of Dalton, GA; daughters, Dana Shoemaker of Dalton, GA, Deanna Plumly of North Carolina, Michelle Hester of Dalton, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Tye and Ann Groves of Cohutta, GA, Michael Shoemaker of South Carolina; sister, Sonya Cooley of Sugar Valley, GA; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
At his request he will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
