Ms. Darla Jane McCune Newport, age 63, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Darla was born January 12, 1959 in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late, Annie Kate Nation. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Guinn, sisters, Sandra "Ginger" Turowski, Janice Orr, Tammy Guinn, Debbie Hughey.

Darla is survived by her son Nicholas Newport of Dalton, GA; daughters, Carla and Chuck Huggins of Dalton, Georgia, Lisa Newport of Dalton, Georgia; brother, Jimmy and Cindy Guinn of Dalton, Georgia; sisters, Traci Guinn of Dalton, Georgia, Patsy Guinn of Montana, Windy Guinn of Montana, Penny and Dennis Stone; grandchildren, Taisha Towns, Taelor Cornett, Chase Cornett, Jake and Hillary Huggins, Amber Huggins, Julie Newport; also several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Darla will be held Monday January 31, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel.

The family will receive friends Monday January 31 from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m.
