Mr. Danny York age 70, of Dayton, TN. departed this life Monday, January 5, 2026 at the Rhea Medical Center.

Danny was born in Jamestown , TN. on May 4, 1955, the son of the late Robert Earl and Ina Lee York.  In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his sisters, Tutty Wright, Dixie Hoover, Treva Cunningham, and Brenda Arbuckle, brothers Billy York, Jimmy York, Tony York, Rocky York, LC York, and Jerry York.

Survivors include his sister and brother in law Diana and Marvin Bell of Dalton, special friend, Kenneth Laduke, and several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Danny York will be held Thursday, Jan. 8th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ponders Funeral Home in Dalton, with the Rev. Denny Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with LaDane Gentry, Dylan Gentry, Bruce Gentry, Devin Gentry, Levi Gentry, Josh Gentry, Jordan Gentry, Jacob Gentry, and Donnie York serving as Pallbearers.  Honorary Pallbearers are James Bell and Marvin Bell.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour on Thursday.

Danny's family wants to honor his sisters, Brenda Arbuckle and Diana Bell, for their unconditional love for Danny.  He was deeply loved by his "Sissys" (as he always called them).

Also, a special heartfelt thanks to Patty Martin for all her love and support.  Her home became a place of comfort and belonging and whose compassion enriched his daily life.
