Mr. Daniel Blake Swinney, age 35 of Memphis, Tennessee, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Tuesday afternoon, November 8, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family.
Daniel was born March 21, 1987 in Dalton, Georgia. He was a 2005 graduate of North West High School. Daniel was an extremely inquisitive individual who loved learning new things. He loved and cared for his family dearly. He left a positive impact on all those who were blessed to have known him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Haden and Mamie Swinney, Lewis Henry Arnold, Geneva Stone and Arnold Stancill.
He is survived by his fiancée, Renee Garrett; sons, William, Ethan and Nicholas Garrett all of Memphis, TN; parents, Celia and Steve Clark of Ringgold, GA, and Tim and Katie Swinney of Dalton, GA; brother, Chris and Kacey Bailey of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Allison and Joe Hufstetler of Plainville, GA, Stephanie Clark of Argentina, grandmother, Margaret Wooten of Dalton, GA; aunts and uncles, Mary Herndon, Billy and Vickie Swinney, Melva Andrews all of Dalton, GA, Annette and Roy Workman, Bobby and Rachel Arnold, Henry and Marie Arnold all of Rocky Face, GA; special lifelong friend, Keith Tate of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Daniel Blake Swinney will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 2:00 o'clock p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend George Ashburn and Reverend J.T. Sanders officiating. He will be laid to rest with grandparents at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Chris Bailey, Jay Hutcherson, John Swinney, Keith Tate, Brent Clark and Jordan Presley honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
