Mr. Daniel Lee Morgan, age 69, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday afternoon, January 22, 2024 at the local hospital.

Daniel was born January 4, 1955, in Sneedville, Tennessee, a son of the late Joseph David and Roxie Pearl Hensley Morgan.  He was a 1972 graduate of Hancock High School in Sneedville, Tennessee.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Shaw Industries. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He was also preceded in death by sons, Jonathan Nathaniel Morgan on April 25, 2016, and Ralph "Doug" Morgan, on February 23, 2022, an infant brother, Ralph Morgan, sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and David Matthews, and Linda Johnson, sister-in-law, Kathy Morgan and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Holland and Maudie Pack.

He is survived by his loving wife, Omie Pack Morgan, and just celebrated their forty-fifth wedding anniversary on, December 25, 2023; daughter-in-law, Alicia Morgan of Dalton, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Ida Richards of Cohutta, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Junior and Lois Morgan, and Chuck Morgan all of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Daniel D.J." Morgan and Alli Vick, Peyton Morgan, Gage and Aravia Richards, Leighann and James Atwood; sister-in-law, Helen Dover of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Daniel Lee Morgan will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Keith Deal officiating.  He will be laid to rest at the Foster Family Cemetery with Joey Pack, Andy Pack, Dillion Pack, Bubba Malone, Michael Morgan, Daniel Garland and Joseph Garland honored to serve as pallbearers.

Military graveside honors will be provided by the Dalton American Legion Post #112. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
