Mr. Dana Scott Waters, 51, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Sunday evening, August 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born May 7, 1969 in Dalton, Georgia.  Scott was a 1987 graduate of Calhoun High School.  He was a truck driver.  He loved cooking and competing in the World Food Competition where he placed fourth in the world in the pork category during the 2018 competition.  Scott was preceded in death by his father, Danny Edward Waters; grandparents, Cecil Edward and Katie Lou Waters, Ann Brown, and Hayden Norton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Liz Wiley Waters of the home; son, Damon Waters; daughter, Shania Waters all of Tunnel Hill; his mother, Judy Waters of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Jax Waters and Gracie Waller; sister, Andrea Waters of Dalton; step-mother, Phyllis Beason of Chickamauga, Georgia.

A service to celebrate the life of Scott Waters will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 1:00 PM in Ponders Melrose Chapel.  Reverend Neil Hasty and Gary Whitener will officiate.  Scott will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Resaca, Georgia.  Emmitt Tate Randy Swanson, Cain Allen, Canaan Stepp, Chuck Thiers, Hal Minderman, Michael Crawford, and Damon Waters will all be honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ponders Melrose Chapel.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
