Mr. Curtis Banks Coggins age 92 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Dalton Square. He was born August 11, 1933 in Gordon County, Georgia a son of the late George Thomas and Sussie Marena White Coggins. He was also preceded in death by his son Wayne Coggins, brothers James Coggins, Jess Coggins, Melvin Coggins, sister Sue Reese. He was a member of Whitfield Baptist Church. He worked for Dalton Utilities for 33 years in the Gas Department.

He is survived by his wife, Lessie Hightower Coggins of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kayanne Coggins of Resaca, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Grover and Teresa Coggins of Fairmount, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra Tatum of Ranger, GA, Wanda Johnson of Calhoun, GA, Mary Lois and Marvin Long of Texas; grandchildren, Mindy and Alex Evans, great grandchildren, Bodhi Evans, Charlie Evans, Andie Evans.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Curtis Banks Coggins will be held Saturday July 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Wayne Cofield and Reverend Bobby Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Colter Wheat, Eddie Peeler, Greg Tilley, Alex Evans, Patrick Reese, and Rick Grizzle serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the mission fund at Whitfield Baptist Church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Willowbrook Hospice and the nurses and staff of Dalton Square for all the love and care they showed to Mr. Coggins.
