Mr. Crawford Earl Powell, age 86 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Wednesday September 1, 2021 at the local hospital. He was born January 9, 1935 in Henagar, AL, a son of the late Herman A. Powell and Velvie Hudgins. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Elizabeth Powell, sons, Ricky Earl Powell, Crawford "Bubby" Powell Jr., granddaughter, April Renee Silvers, brother and sisters, Herman "Shorty" Powell, Martha Faye Alden, Dot Winkler, Joyce Rogers, June Rogers, son-in-law, Freddy Silvers.

He is survived by his daughter and caretaker, Rebecca "Becky" Silvers; granddaughter and caretaker, Carrie Gilbert of the residence; daughter, Angie Powell and Tim Holcomb; daughters-in-law, Wanda Gann, Linda Wilson; son-in-law, Curtis and Shirley Cline; sister, Sue Powell; sister-in-law, Kathy and Charles Wood; grandchildren, Jonathan Powell, Amanda and Travis Griffin, Matt and Brandie Powell, Melissa Lankford all of Tunnel Hill, GA, Scott Silvers of Hawaii, Gennie and Chad Knowles of Cedartown, GA; 14 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Crawford Earl Powell will be held Tuesday September 7, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend George Ashburn and JT Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Ronnie Rowe, Andrew Taylor, Kevin Lumpkin, Charlie Bunch, Paul Powers, Jeffery Babb, Nathan Robertson and Matthew Powell serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 112.
