Obituary

Mrs. Cora Lorene Woodring, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Friday afternoon, October 31, 2014. Lorene was born May 12, 1927 in Nassau County, Florida, a daughter of the late Grady and Cora Jones Scott. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Mitchell, a daughter, Donna Clark, a sister, Virginia Stephens and her brother, Henry Scott. Lorene was a graduate of Valley Point High School and was a member of Grace Bible Church in Chatsworth, Georgia. Lorene and her husband Joe, owned and operated Woodring Rug Company for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Wooding of the residence, and celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary, July 24, 2014; daughter and son-in-law, Neva and Kevin Weaver of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Theresa Mitchell of Nashville, TN; son-in-law, Bobby Clark of Chatsworth, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Chuck Parker of St. Simmons, GA; grandchildren, Joey and Jennifer Woodring, Chuck and Christie Clark, Mark and Kim Mitchell Matthew Mitchell, April Mitchell, Laura Jackson; great-grandchildren, David Mitchell, Zachary and Andrea Mitchell, Urijah Mitchell, Addison, Lily, Marley and Klyde Woodring, Carolina, Ben and Eli Clark; great-great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Mitchell; sister, Claudelle Hagan of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lorene Woodring will be held Monday, November 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with her grandson, Reverend Chuck Clark officiating. Joey Woodring, Addison Woodring, Kevin Weaver, David Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Zachary Mitchell and Sammy Mitchell will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
