Mrs. Connie Leola Duckett, age 64, of Crandall, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday afternoon, February 14, 2025, at Advent Health Gordon in Calhoun, Georgia.

Born on March 29, 1960, in Dalton, Georgia, Connie was the beloved eldest of six siblings. She was a woman whose heart overflowed with love, especially for her husband, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She took great pride in her family and in all that she did, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her.

Connie found joy in life's simple pleasures—tending to her beautiful garden, watching hummingbirds in the early morning light, and savoring a quiet cup of coffee. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly and a source of strength and faith for her family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Donovan, Jr.; grandson and his wife, Tommy and Kristen Nickels; brother, Charles Crider, Jr.; father-in-law, Curtis Duckett; mother-in-law, Reba Duckett; stepfather-in-law, Cecil Blankenship; and brother-in-law, Ralph Duckett.

Connie is survived by her devoted husband, Rod Duckett of the residence; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Chrystie and Jeff Nickels of Eton, GA; her parents, Charles and Judy Crider of Dalton, GA; and her cherished grandchildren: Ashlee and Matthew Taylor, Charlee King, Tamara and Allen Cochran, Benjamin and Kaylynn Daniel, II. Her great-grandchildren, Clarysa Hoiser, Cambryah Hoiser, Klayton Webb, Jackson Taylor, Crider Cochran, Braxton Cochran, and Connley Cochran, were her greatest joy.

She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Loretta and Steven Bryson, sister, best friend and special caregiver Judy Jeanette and Benjamin Daniel, Rebecca and Ken Kimble, all of Dalton, GA, and Irene and Jody Jones of Cisco, GA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A service to celebrate Connie's life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charlie Pratt, Reverend Stoney Kiser and Benjamin Daniel officiating. She will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery, surrounded by her loving family.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Matthew Taylor, Benjamin Daniel, Jr., Joey Jones, Rickey Duckett, Ronnie Duckett, Tyler Duckett, and Ryan Duckett. Honorary pallbearers include Benjamin Daniel, Sr., and Jody Jones, Jeff Nickels.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Connie's love, kindness, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
