Mr. Clyde "Bones" Hubert Carter, age 86 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Saturday November 30, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center. Bones was born June 7, 1933 in Dalton, GA, the son of the late William Paul Carter and Ellen Potts Carter. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, James, Gene, JR Carter; sisters Ruby Walls and Mary Walston. Bones served in the Army during the Korean War, he was honored to serve and always flew the American flag at his home. He worked many years as manager at VFW.

Bones is survived by his children; Garland Carter of Dalton, GA, Alecia Carter (Jock) Russell of Calhoun, GA, Kimber (Charles) Kelley of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Christopher, Brooke, Erica, Kaci, Craig; great-grandchildren, Jace, Jade, Olivia, Sophia and Koda; several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday December 4, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with James Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post 112 of Dalton performing the military rites. Pallbearers for Bones will be Christopher Brown, Craig Cox, Charles Kelley Lamar Roberts, Jock Russell and Andrew Tarvin.

The family will receive friends Wednesday December 4, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour of 4:00 p.m.
