Mr. Clinton Banta, age 75, of Rossville, Georgia, departed this life Friday evening, December 5, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Clinton was born February 14, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, a son of the late Aubrey and Agnes Bunch Banta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clayton Banta, Tommy Banta, and Buddy Reynolds.

Clinton proudly served several years in the United States Army, where he fulfilled his duty with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he continued a life of service as a law enforcement officer with the Corbin Police Department in Corbin, Kentucky. After retirement, Clinton devoted his time to what mattered most to him—his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than the moments he shared with his grandchildren.

Clinton is survived by his best friend and the love of his life and wife of 45 years, Katherine Banta; his son, David Banta of Dalton, GA; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristi (Cyrus) Elder of Chattanooga, TN; and his sisters, Rosalin Robbins and Jean Rice. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Maddison Linville, Daiman Banta, Meleah Linville, and Hayden Moody. He is also survived by his beloved Cocker Spaniel of 12 years, Grizz.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Clinton Banta will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Johnny West officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Per his request, Mr. Banta will be cremated, and inurnment will take place at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
