Mrs. Cleo Gravley Kell, age of 93 of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday evening, July 9, 2014 at her home. Cleo was born November 29, 1920 in Pickens County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Janie Brown Gravley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewell Richard Kell, a grandson, Todd Kell, son-in-law, William Bailey, sisters, Gladys Willix, Bonnie Smith, Leoma Fountain and brothers, Austin Gravely, Autrell Gravley and Ralph Crump. Cleo was a very hard worker and loved farming, making a garden and was known for being a wonderful cook. She loved and cared deeply for her family. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Pickens County, Georgia.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bailey; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jean Kell, Jesse and Kay Kell all of Cohutta, GA, and Bobby and Velma Kell of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Penny Wilson, Tammy Silvers, Kim Johnson, Cyndi Parker, Christian Kell, Cathy Kell, Heather Realbuto, Jesse Wayne Kell, Austin Kell, Christy Rogers, Thomas Jackson Kell and Ryan Williams; twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cleo Gravley Kell will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ed Pippin officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, with Payton Kell, Allen Forester, Timothy Parker, Dakota "Red" Swinney, Jesse Wayne Kell and Ryan Williams serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 12:00 p.m. noon Saturday until the service hour.
