Mr. Clement "Chester" Hefner , age 83, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the hospice of Chattanooga. He was born December 28, 1937 in Dalton, GA a son of the late Frank and Lillie Mae Nesbitt Hefner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mina Jo Hefner, brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Elizabeth Hefner, and brothers-in-law, Willie and Hoyt White, Jerry Wynn.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Steve Garner of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Joseph Messer, Stephen Messer, Hannah and Robert Barnette, Kristen Messer and Trevor Howard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Trammel Hefner of Dalton, GA, Luther "Butch" and Linda Hefner of Chatsworth, GA, Deloris Hefner; sisters, Inez Hefner, Jane Wynn; several nieces and nephews.

Service will be held Tuesday November 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Stephen Messer, Joseph Messer, Robert Barnette, Trevor Howard, Chris Wynn, Sean Hefner, Butch Hefner and Trammel Hefner will serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
