Mr. Claude Lee Taylor, age 90, of Sugar Valley, Georgia, departed this life Saturday January 25, 2014 at is residence. Claude was born November 20, 1923, in Gilmer County, Georgia, a son of the late John B. and Laura Watkins Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife Zora Bell Taylor, sons, Johnny and Walter Taylor, daughter, Brenda Shirley, brothers, Bartow, Grady and Frank Taylor, sister, Zona Joyce, grandson, Joel Taylor.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Nancy Taylor of Sugar Valley, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Joan and James Palmer of Chickamauga, GA, Glenda Kelley of Memphis, TN, Shirley Smith of Calhoun, GA; cousin, Clayburn Davis of Jasper, GA; grandchildren, Cindy Brown, Mike Kelley, Jeremy and Patty Smith, Anthony and Ryan Shirley, Robyn Cook, Kelli Derryberry; nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Claude Lee Taylor will be held Monday January 27, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Reverend Howard Strickland officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Anthony Shirley, Ryan Shirley, Jeremy Smith, Mike Kelley and Ronnie Logan serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday.
