Mr. Clarence Carter, age 80, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the local hospital. He was born April 23, 1935 in Summerville, Georgia, a son of the late William and Ola Lee Fowler Carter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Virginia Carter, son, Melvin Carter, daughter, Frances Dale Carter Bramblett, brothers, Fate, John, Paul, Bobby and Jess Carter, sisters, Jane Franklin, Dink Bryson, Frances Carter.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Misty and William Wood, Amber Hosford and grandson-in-law Keith Moorehead of Dalton, GA, Jacob Hosford of Ringgold, GA, Trinity Wood and great grandson-in-law Mikey Hawkins of Dalton, GA; brothers, LC Carter, Albert Carter of Rocky Face, GA; sister, Thelma Foster of Eton, GA; special friends, Robert Stanley of South Georgia, Cleatus of Chatsworth, GA; several other grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Clarence Carter will be held Monday January 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with William Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens with Bobby Carter, Danny Carter, Joshua Phillips, Adam Phillips, Cleatus, and LC Carter Jr. serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. In Lieu of flower the family request donations be made to help with expenses.
