Mrs. Clara "Nell" Smith, age 79 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Saturday March 21, 2015 at the local hospital. Nell was born August 2, 1935 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late James Marion and Bessie Lee Owen Goswick. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta Smith, brothers, Leonard, Robert, Harold and Paul Goswick, sister, Beatrice Moulton.
She is survived by her husband of fifty eight years, Herman Smith of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Howard "Lee" Smith and Sandy Steele of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Joyce and Eugene Thomason of Dalton, GA, Lisa and John Arb of Chatsworth, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jr. Smith of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Allan Thomason, Kevin Thomason, James Arb, Paige Coffey, Chance Moore; great grandchildren, Hunter, Easton, Brayden, Kaylynne; nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Clara "Nell" Smith will be held Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Bret Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
