Mr. Christopher Lee "C.J." Long, Jr., age 21, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Sunday morning December 22, 2013 at the Gordon Hospital. C.J. was born June 25, 1992 in Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Joe Shelton, Hulen and Frances Smith and a grandmother, Elsie Kirby. C.J. was a 2011 graduate of Lincolnton High School in Lincolnton, North Carolina.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Long of Calhoun, GA; father and step-mother, Chris and Beth Long of Ringgold, GA; sisters, Miranda Long and Ashlyn Anderson both of Ringgold, GA; grandparents, Carolyn and Marion Smith of Dalton, GA, Edward Kirby of Florida; great-grandmother, Callie Slaughter of Dalton, GA; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Christopher Lee "C.J." Long, Jr., will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Adam Warren officiating. He will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery with his cousins serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
