IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine
Kirk
February 29, 1936 – March 21, 2016
On Monday, March 21, 2016 Christine Kirk of Dalton, GA, departed this world to be with her heavenly Father. Born March 1, 1936 to Charney Wade "Doc" and Violet Dalton Ralston, Christine lived a devout life in service to God and to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 57 yeards, John Ruben Kirk, brothers, Alan, Jimmy and Joe Ralston, sister Flora Mae Bishop. Christine was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church where she was beloved by the congregation for her sharp wit, tell it like it is attitude, chocolate cake and big heart. She spent most her days taking care of her family, friends and even strangers. Everyone left her house well fed, but most of all well loved. She never let anyone forget who was in charge but the love she gave selflessly will carry through and shine on for many years to come.
She is survived by her daughter, Durenda Kirk Dolan of Louisville, KY; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Angela Kirk of Dalton, GA, grandchildren, Kirk (Kim) Dolan, Chrissie Kirk, Danielle Dolan, Kelsey Kirk, Katie Kirk; great grandchildren, Colton, William, Josephine; brothers, Tommy Ralston, David (Debbie) Ralston; sister, Ammogene Rayburn; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Christine Kirk will be held Friday March 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bobby Ballew and Reverend Darrel Ballew officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Quinton Rayburn, Kevin Ralston, Darren Ralston, Barney Presley, Leland O'Bryant and Larry Wimpy serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gifts in memoriam can be given to the Eastbrook Baptist Church Building Fund.
