IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlotte Joyce
Kiser
September 27, 1941 – December 16, 2024
Mrs. Charlotte Joyce Kiser, age 83, of Friendsville, Tennessee, and formerly of Sandy Springs, Georgia, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Monday afternoon, December 16, 2024, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family.
Charlotte was born September 27, 1941, in Maryville, Tennessee. She was a proud 1959 graduate of Rule High School in Knoxville, Tennessee.
A devoted and lifelong member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly for over seventy-five years, Charlotte's faith and love for her church family were central to her life. She lived with a servant's heart, always willing to care for others and share her talents, especially in the kitchen, even as her dementia progressed. Known fondly as the "Biscuit Lady" during the 1980s, Charlotte's biscuits brought joy and comfort to countless people, including Cobb County law enforcement and anyone fortunate enough to know her.
Charlotte was the beloved wife of Wayne Kiser, her husband of nearly sixty-four years, with whom she built a life centered on faith, love, and family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Anita Summers, a proud grandmother to Alicia Hannon, and an adoring great-grandmother to Brecon and Lila Hannon.
Charlotte's love of family extended to her siblings, nieces, nephews, and their children. Born into a large and loving family, she shared deep bonds with her brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth McCarter, stepmother Francis, husband Wayne, sister, Wilma Pratt, and brothers Jim and Jack McCarter.
She is survived by her daughter Anita (Drew) Summers, granddaughter Alicia (David) Hannon, and great-grandchildren Brecon and Lila Hannon. Charlotte also leaves behind her cherished siblings Betty Owens, Alleen (Oley) Wilson, Iris (Michael) Smith, Sue (Larry) Hopkins, and Charlie (Shirley) McCarter; step-granddaughters Margot and Devin Summers; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Charlotte Joyce Kiser will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of God of The Union Assembly with Reverend Paul Thomas Hughes and Reverend Charlie Bell officiating. Music will be arranged by Mavis Hughes and Marcia Hughes. She will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery with Jay McCarter, Darren McCarter, Lamont Kiser, Landau Bright, Scott Kiser and Nathan Kiser honored to serve as pallbearers. Stoney Kiser will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
Charlotte's life was a testament to the joy found in serving others and the strength of family bonds. She will be remembered for her warmth, faith, and the love she shared so generously.
