Mr. Charles "Charlie" E. Atkins Jr., age 56 of Dalton, Georgia, went to be with the lord and earned his wings on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was born December 9, 1959 in Chattanooga, TN, a son of the late Charles and Frances Maney Atkins Sr. He was also preceded in death by daughter; Latishea Atkins and sisters; Rhonda Faye Atkins and Brenda Gail Atkins.

He is survived by his daughters; Jennifer Atkins, Khristian House, Rebecca Sanchez all of Dalton. A son; Cody Atkins, 3 grandchildren; Destanie Atkins, Jordan Carter, Breonna Carter, a brother Danny Atkins; sisters; JoAnn Browning, Lisa Atkins, Dana Standridge, Mika Atkins, first wife Ginger Sanchez and second wife Debbie Davis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and special friends of the family; Kimberly Barns, Joshua Johnson, Jonathan Duran and Blake Davis.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charlie Atkins Jr. will be held Wednesday April 20, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Justin Camper officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Joshua Johnson, Cody Atkins, Jordan Carter, Justin Camper, Danny Atkins and Jonathan Duran serving as pall bearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until hour of service.
