Mr. Charles Gregory Townsend, 20, of Fairmount, GA, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Gordon Hospital. Charles was born May 2, 1994 in Rome, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charlie Underwood.

He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Tammy Townsend; sister and brother-in-law, Megan and Jesse Stanley; special friend, Rachael Seidler; grandparents, George W. and Ruby Townsend all of Fairmount, GA, Jimmie Lou Underwood of Ranger, GA; uncles and aunts, Charlie and Susie Mallory of Fairmount, GA, Leroy and Patsy Gravitte of Calhoun, GA, Jeffery Townsend, Richard Hamilton of Fairmount, GA, Billy Joe and Deborah Jones of Illinois; cousins, Nickolas, Heath, Meria, Tiffany, Mart, Matt; and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Gregory Townsend will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Delmar Ledford and Reverend Randy Fouts officiating. Interment will follow in the Salacoa Baptist Church Cemetery with Ricky Smith, Matt Townsend, Josh Brooks, Nick Stone, Jack Rhinehart, and Heath Holt serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
