Charles
Stafford
Jan 31, 1950 — Oct 3, 2026
Charles “Chuck” Edward Stafford, 76, of Crandall, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, with his family by his side, following a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on January 31, 1950.
Chuck shared 51 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Connie, affectionately known to him as his “Con.” Together, Chuck and Con owned many small businesses over the years, working alongside their family along the way. Those years together were filled with hard work and shared memories. Chuck was a hardworking man throughout his life, carrying that spirit with him until the very end.
His motto was, “No is not an option!” When Chuck set his mind to something, he found a way to make it happen. He did the things he wanted to do and always made it work, meeting life with determination and resourcefulness.
His sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the loves of his life. He loved spending time and doing things with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making memories they will always treasure. He taught Joshua and Jarrod how to work and how to do just about everything, passing along his skills, determination, and the value of a job well done. His lessons and love will live on through his family.
His favorite place to go was Jekyll Island, where the whole family gathered year after year. Those trips were a cherished family tradition, giving Chuck time with the people he loved most and leaving his family with memories they will carry forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, BC and Essie Stafford; his granddaughter, Eden Olivia; and his sister, Wanda.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Joshua and his wife, Brianne, and Jarrod; grandchildren, Max, Alex, Jace, Iva, Kayleigh “Kay” Pritchett and her husband, Payton, and Kristin “Slim” Muncher and her husband, Ben; great-grandchildren, Henry, Luke, Charlie Wade, Weston, Maverick, Finn, and Emmett; mother-in-law, “Mamaw Tommie”; sisters-in-law, Yvette and her late husband, Jack, and Petra and her husband, Wayne; brother, Randy; sisters, Judy, Shirley and Barbra; son, Todd; and the rest of his extended family.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to our friends and family, both far away and close to home, who offered help, kindness, and support during our times of need. From visits and helping hands to prayers and late-night phone calls, every act of love brought comfort and meant more than words can express.
We also extend a special thank-you to the staff of Adoration Hospice for their compassion, care, and support during our time of need. Your kindness to Chuck and our family will always be remembered.
In keeping with Chuck’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you honor Chuck by doing something kind for someone who needs help, especially a child. Offering a helping hand would be a meaningful way to remember his life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ponders Melrose Chapel, 138 Melrose Drive, Dalton, Georgia 30721, (706) 226-4002. “Your Selected Independent Funeral Home.”
