Mr. Charles Manis, age 80, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, departed this life Tuesday morning, November 21, 2023 at Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born July 8, 1943 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Elbert "Red" Manis and Annie Ruth "Penny" Parks Manis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gudrun McBryer Manis, daughter Tori Manis Milen, brother Jerry Lamar Manis, sister Brenda Louise Thomas, stepson Billy McBryer. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, April and Garry Van Jaarsveldt of South Africa, Rebekah Sampson of Dalton, GA, mother of his children, Linda Mizzell of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Zackary Manis, Payton Foster, Cailtin Foster, Kyson Manis, Marquette Sampson III; special friend, Betty White of Chattanooga, TN; stepchildren, Ralph McBryer, Jenni McBryer; nieces and nephews.

At his request he will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
