Mr. Charles William Lewallen, age 72, of Resaca, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, April 3, 2021 at AdventHealth Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Georgia. He was born October 1, 1948 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Gordon Lee Lewallen Sr. and Ruby Bell Haren Lewallen. He was also preceded in death by his wife Juanita Greene Lewallen, son Jesse Lamar Lewallen, brother, Gordon Lewallen Jr., grandchildren, Keslee Cordell, Titus Brown, mother-in-law, Belle Greene. Charles proudly served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Daniel Brown of Resaca, GA; daughter-in-law, Tara Lewallen of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Kaleigh and Hunter Williams, Sydney Lewallen, Kinsli Cordell, Broghen Lewallen, Kamen Cordell, Sarah Brown, Jacob Brown, Hunter and Kimmey Brown, Silas Brown; great grandchildren, Aiden, Savannah, Liam, Walker; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Carson Odell; sister-in-law, Eloise Lewallen of Chatsworth, GA; best friends, Tommy Sisson, Deb Brock of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles William Lewallen will be held Friday April 9, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Herman Parker, Reverend Dewayne Smith and Reverend Roy Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in the West Hill Cemetery with Broghen Lewallen, Jacob Brown, Hunter Williams, Chad Johnson, Isiah Hawkins, Ross Elkins and Austin Burnette serving as pallbearers. American Legion Post #112 will handle the military rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
