Mr. Charles "Charlie" Edwin Kelley Jr., age 66 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Tuesday July 19, 2022 at Erlanger Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1956 in Statesboro, Georgia, a son of the late Charles Kelley Sr. and Nancy Whittle Kelley. Charlie was an eagle scout, he loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. He was a 1973 graduate of Statesboro High School and Attended University of Tennessee at Chattanooga were he received his Bachelors degree in 1978. He has worked for Marquis Industries for 20 plus years.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Carter Kelley of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Brooke Leigh and Matt Maples of Apison, TN, Kaci Cox of Ringgold, GA; son Craig Cox of Ringgold, GA; granddaughter, Olivia Maples of Apison, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Robert Turner of Macon, GA; nephew, Brandon Glover of Statesboro, GA; special friends, Larry and Kay Heckman of Cohutta, GA; Alecia Carter of Rossville, GA; brother-in-law, Garland Carter of Sugar Valley, GA.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Edwin Kelley Jr. will be held Monday July 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with James Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Brandon Glover, Andrew Tarvin, Garland Carter, Lamar Roberts, Larry Heckman and Chet Graham serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
